Went to Mt. Flagstaff (right across Alta)for backcountry ski today. How deep
is the snow? Who cares how deep it is when the snow is all over your face
and you still can't feel any bottom! :-D

练习了几次beacon drill，还挺好玩的。

pictures.
The good news: you guys did it in deep powder.
The bad news: Alta is talking about adding a chair to the Flagstaff slope.
There will be a hearing some where, some time about it. All backcountry
people, like you guys, are strongly against it. So enjoy it when you can. |

The flagstaff area is facing south, always get sun-baked. No recreational
skiers would really want to ski there.
They want to add a lift, simply because then Alta will seems have a bigger "
skiing area".
Like our colleague said it is all about marketing.
A lift will destroy a lot of thing in that area or adjacent areas.

Last Thur I skied Alta and saw it would be a real pain to connect both sides
of mountains across the road. Traffic will be bad too.
To me it's more of control and, of course, marketing.
