city.
Looking for opportunities in Singapore. Really like the weather and clean
street there.
Any way to find a headhunter? Any advice is appreciated.
Last year comp. was $200k.

or Tokyo, not many in SG. There are some desks moved from Tokyo right after
the earthquake and remain in SG.
A good headhunter here for quant position, I would recommend Shelby Jennings
, they specialized in quantitative vacancies. Can also try Robert Walters
and Robert Half, they are subsidiary of global headhunters with great
sources.
Total compensation is not essential in job hunting at all, your base speaks
more in job hunting. Also bear in mind, since tax rate in SG is much much
more lower than in NYC,
for 200k, roughly 20k for tax here, compared with Big Apple almost half
reduced. Don't think you will get even pay match, be ready for cut, but
eventually you will end up with more cash in your pocket, since you don't
need to pay for other people's food stamp :)
Some headhunters sent me some opennings on AVP, VP level in Model Validation
. The only field I can see in SG required hard core quant background is
Model Val team.
Yes, indeed, air is clean, weather??? if you like it, just go for it!
Good luck.

本版dhd1999是做类似工种的,你可以问问他。

between SG and USA, you can do your homework here. Forgot to mention, the
low tax rate only means for tax paid to SG; if you are US citizen or PR, you
are still subject to Federal tax....
Expenses are indeed high here, pretty much same as or even more than mid
town NYC level (decent foods, car, rent, kids education etc with limited
resources, all in all, it's a city.) and no unemployment benefit. Anyway,
even single income from I-Banking or firms can afford a quite decent (not
necessary luxury) life in SG.
Out of curious, I can see financial jon markets quite picking up for the
past months. I can get around 2 emails from US headhunters (guess they are
still having my old profile in USA), and most dorminant European banks/firms
are re-structuring in Asia, why now?

.not necessarily an indication of a market pickup.
