Some of you already know,
I have family on my mother's side who live Hackleburg, AL.
This small town is totally destroyed.
My oldest cousin and his wife were killed, their children are grown and as
far as we know they are ok, they do not live in the immediate area, but I do
not have confirmation on that just yet.
My Dad & mom drove over there yesterday and “snuck” in the area … its un
real …. And so devastated…
My aunt's house was totally destroyed; auto’s totaled, nothing left –
they lived downtown near the high school.
My Aunt, Uncle and their grandson survived in an outside underground storm
shelter. (1st grader)
My other cousin, his wife and child were reported to be in an area hospital
and I do not have details of their injuries.
A few coworkers asked to help out. I will get the clothing sizes this
weekend and update everyone. Any backpacks, tote bags, etc.. Would also be
grand! Anything you want to contribute will be much appreciated, they did
not have much to begin with, and it is a very small poor town.
Please keep this town and all the others in your prayers. I can’t even
imagine

To the UA Family:
The University of Alabama expresses its deepest sympathies to those in the
Tuscaloosa community who have lost loved ones. We especially mourn the loss
of members of the UA family. We recognize and appreciate the efforts of
the first responders and everyone who has worked so tirelessly to provide
aid and assistance to those impacted by the storm. The University will
continue to partner with the city and county of Tuscaloosa, as we work
together to meet the immediate needs of our students, faculty and staff, as
well as our friends and neighbors in the community.
I encourage you to continue to reach out to your colleagues and co-workers
who have suffered damage from the storm. Your generosity and acts of
kindness are so typical of the UA spirit, and I am proud of the way you have
responded to this crisis situation. We will continue to move forward as a
family.
Many of you have asked for additional ways you can help. Contributions to
the UA Acts of Kindness Fund will be used to help UA students, faculty and
staff who need assistance as a result of storm damage. The University will
continue to provide resources as additional needs become known.
Please know that Sandee and I are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

很多同学可能没有经历过龙卷风。我原来住TN，也是多发地之一，每年都会有touch
down。去年有一次，隔着不远的Kohl's整个楼顶被掀掉了，前年，有20几个小的，在我
公司周围方圆一个迈的地方touch down。每次经历这样的事情，就会更加珍惜现在拥有
的时间。对了，我TN那个家的院墙现在还躺在地上呢，几天前晚上，管理我的房子的人
给我们发来几张照片，幸好啊，不是我的房子。

美国这边房屋多是木结构的，大的风一吹就没，当然风要很大。
躲tornado，最好是地下室。
