Try run some anti-spyware softwares or alternatively do this:
Search the registry for "Browser Helper Objects" and delete all the entries
underneath.
IE can be removed from "Add/Remove Windows Components" under "Add/Remove
Programs". However this will not remove the core piece of IE as Windows relies
on it to function.
