t*****r 发帖数: 4431 | 1 Seattle, Wash. is most often characterized by its rainy weather and
ubiquitous coffee, but for those that want to avoid the rain and skip the
caffeine, the city also boasts a plethora of boutique shops of confectionery
concoctions. From old fashioned custard to a new take on crepes, the rainy
city has an array of sunny sweets.
Top Pot Doughnuts
Making Seattle it's home since 2002, Top Pot is the perfect way to jump
start your day. With over 40 different flavors of hand-forged doughnuts,
there's a little something for everyone, even those with gluten allergies.
Kick back and relax in this sugary oasis as you enjoy your sweet circle of
doughy pleasure. The best part? Top Pots doughnuts contain zero grams trans
fat allowing one to indulge with a little less guilt.
Recommendation: Try Top Pot's apple fritter or old fashioned doughnut with a
cup of their hand roasted coffee.
Sarducci and Crepan
These crepes are just as trendy as the country of their birth. Sarducci and
Crepan offers a unique twist on the French snack. The menu boasts an
assortment of international crepes from an Asian-inspired dessert crepe (
fresh strawberries, banana, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, powdered sugar
and corn flakes) to a traditional European crepe smothered in Nutella and
sprinkled with strawberries. The portions are generous and the extensive
menu will have you demanding an encore.
Recommendation: These crepes are big enough to fill any appetite. Don't be
afraid to share one with a friend.
Sweet Iron
Not to be outdone by the vogue crepe, Sweet Iron highlights the often under-
appreciated waffle. These aren't the cardboard toaster waffles of your youth
. No, these are authentic and rich liège waffles. Known for being sweet and
chewy, liège waffles are the most common type of waffle available in
Belgium. Sweet Iron entices customers with its candied brioche-style dough
that patiently rises for two hours before being pressed into an imported
cast iron. The end result is a perfectly cooked waffle with sweet pockets of
caramelized sugar.
If there's one downside to Sweet Iron, it's having to make the decision
between a sweet or savory waffle. With toppings that include prosciutto,
goat cheese, hazelnuts, honey and bruleed bananas, there really is no wrong
choice.
Recommendation: If you're looking to enjoy one of these luxury waffles in
the comfort of your own home, buy a frozen four-pack and heat them up in
your oven.
Bakery Nouveau
This award-winning Seattle bakery is easy to find if you follow your nose.
The alluring aroma from the freshly baked breads and pastries can often
spread over numerous city blocks. With a display case of colorful macaroons,
flaky croissants and toasted baguettes, Bakery Nouveau is like a little
slice of France in Seattle's west end. Executive Chef, William Leaman, is
classically trained in traditional European pastry preparation and it doesn'
t go unnoticed in the depth and quality of his masterpieces.
Savor the flavor at one of the tables in this cozy haunt, or take a box to
go to share with the office. Bakery Nouveau also serves lunch. Choose from
sandwiches made from freshly baked bread, artisan quiches, or even a
traditional croque monsieur.
Recommendation: The twice-baked almond croissant is a local favorite and it'
s wise to take one for the road.
Cupcake Royale
Cupcakes are the new black and Seattle's Cupcake Royal wears it well.
Founded in 2003, Cupcake Royal holds claim to being the first cupcake bakery
outside of New York City. These scrumptious cupcakes are made from scratch
with locally sourced ingredients. Partnering with Washington's farmers and
producers, Cupcake Royale's sweets are the perfect blend of indulgence and
sustainability. And while Cupcake Royale's traditional assortment has
something to satisfy every sweet tooth, it's their seasonal flavors like
eggnog, maple whiskey bacon and orange hibiscus that truly spoil the
tastebuds.
Recommendation: Bring Cupcake Royale to your kitchen with its vanilla
cupcaking mix and a pint of famed butter cream frosting for $19.50.
Molly Moon's
Since 2008, Molly Moon's has been bringing joy to Seattle, one unique scoop
at a time. Acquire the sweetest brain freeze with a scoop (or two) of Molly
Moons acclaimed balsamic strawberry, honey lavender or maple walnut ice
cream. Aside from its crazy flavor combinations, what sets Molly Moons apart
from other ice cream shops is its locally sourced ingredients. Search for
the painted map on the shop wall that indicates where your ice cream's
components came from -- down to the hormone-free milk from local Edaleen
Daily Farm.
Recommendation: Take a scoop of one of Molly Moon's unique flavors in one of
the house-made waffle cones.
The Chocolate Market
Inconspicuously tucked away in Post Alley near Pike Place Market, this
chocolate haven beckons to all that pass by. The cozy shop packs quite the
punch with its mouthwatering truffles and fudge. The friendly and
knowledgeable staff will woo you with samples of the housemade chocolate
concoctions. The melt in your mouth assortment of truffles will leave you in
ecstasy.
Recommendation: Ask for a sample of the house made fudge. If you're extra
sweet, you might even get to try a couple of the flavors.
The Confectional
Located in Seattle's historic Pike Place Market, The Confectional is a one-
stop shop for lovers of cheesecake and chocolate. The Confectional has
married two of the greatest treats with their cheesecake truffles. These
small balls of cheesecake and enrobed in rich Guittard chocolate are only
available in-store and are oh-so addicting. If you're a cheesecake purist,
ditch the chocolate for any of the mini cheesecakes. These two-bite delights
come in an array of flavors that include Kahlua white chocolate, triple
berry and mochaccino. Unlike the cheesecake truffles, the mini cheesecakes
can be ordered and taken to go.
Recommendation: Regardless of the season, ask for a sample of The
Confectional's rich Colombian hot chocolate. This thick, European-style of
hot chocolate will have you coming back for more.
D'Ambrosio Gelato
Grab a taste of Italy at D'Ambrosio Gelato, an authentic gelateria that
prides itself on fresh and delicious artisan gelato. To merge the tastes of
Seattle and Italy, try an affogato. Literally translating to "drowned", an
affogato is a scoop of creamy gelato that's topped with a shot of hot
espresso. Think of it as an Italian milkshake. If you want to hold the
coffee, have your gelato served straight up in any of the mouthwatering
flavors. Local favorites include pistachio, stracciatella (cream and
chocolate) and fichi caramellati (caramel and figs).
Recommendation: To guarantee that their gelato is made fresh daily, D'
Ambrosio offers incredibly discounted prices on their to-go pints and quarts
during the last hour they are open everyday.
Old School Frozen Custard
Kick it back old school with this creamy cold treat from the past. Old
School Frozen Custard, with locations in Fremont and Capitol Hill, is the
place to enjoy ice cream as it was made a hundred years ago. A touch of egg
yolk is what separates this blast from the past from the ice cream we know
today. Flavors at Old School Frozen Custard change daily, but their online
calendar shows which flavor of the day will be featured. Boston cream pie,
malted milk balls and salted caramel pecan are a few fan favorites.
Recommendation: Try any of the flavors in a "concrete", a blended
combination of frozen custard and your choice of mix-ins from a huge
selection of toppings and syrups.
From bite size cheesecake to gelato drowned in coffee, Seattle offers a
plethora of unique dessert experiences that will have you nursing that sweet
tooth. | t*****r 发帖数: 4431 | | m*******n 发帖数: 5103 | 3 对了,还想到一个地方 Queen Mary Tea Room,也是满 sweet spot 的。但男生别去,
