In my view, being a vendor can make you happier and healthier as you don't
need to deal with annual review and office politics. Also, you get overtime
pay if you are asked to work more than 40 hrs a week. Mostly they don't
expect you to work overtime.
But being a vendor can't be a long term career goal since most staffing
firms don't offer good benefits, career path, and promotion plan for their
associates.

for vendor.Vendor pay is generaly lower.
2. the below reasons make sense if you are citizen or gc holder, but not for
H1B.
yes, if you don't like MS, Google is hiring, Amazon is hiring...why bother
staying here and complaining?

I have a friend whose visa got revoked by her staffing firm after she was
not on project for 30 days. You used to be able to get an on-leave proof
from your firm and maintain your visa status during the bench time. But US
Homeland security started to scrutinize these firms in the recent two years
so they (Volt, Excell Data, or other A3 firms) no longer do that for their
associates. |
