Position Title: Research Associate I
Reports to: Senior Research Scientist
Salary: $63,200 - $79,000
Location: San Francisco, CA
Responsibilities
The Research Associate will assist in developing, conducting, and analyzing
the results of research projects using test data, survey or administrative
data sets; preparing project reports and research papers; and assisting in
writing proposals. Data analysis responsibilities include the development of
analytic databases from administrative databases and primary data
collections, maintenance and documentations of the databases, programming in
statistical software to conduct data analyses. May also include supervision
and training of research assistants in the construction and maintenance of
databases or other supportive tasks. Responsibilities will include frequent
interfacing with school district data specialists on data specification,
retrieval and secure transfer.
Qualifications
· MS, MSW, or MPH in statistics, quantitative social science or related
field.
· Completed coursework in statistics, survey research and/or evaluation
research methodology.
· Demonstrated knowledge of data collection procedures, data processing,
and database development, including procedures for quality control and data
privacy.
· Expertise in a variety of statistical techniques used to analyze social
science data.
· Demonstrated programming fluency in at least one major statistical
passage (SPSS, SAS, Splus, or Stata, SAS preferred).
· Knowledge of specialized statistical packages desirable (e.g., M-plus,
Bilog, HLM, SUDAAN)
· Ability to write coherent reports and publications for dissemination to
both technical and non-technical audiences.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent
interpersonal skills.
· Background in educational research preferred.
· Ability to manage and balance multiple tasks and priorities.
· Thoroughness and attention to detail. |
