这是一个小卡车。
第一次体愿到加州的扰民政策。
在以前的州，登记小卡车不须要weight the truck.
DMV said that a truck has to register under commercial category,unless
the truck has a shell-- put a shell on a truck.
commercial vehicle need to be weighted to register.
Why need to put a shell on a truck to register a truck as auto instead of
commercial? I know because it is in ca. |

看来加州真是不business friendly. 估计蔡大师过两年会move back to low cost
state.

I know CA is not business friendly.
I has a friend moved from ca to AZ about 15 years ago. They has a house
fully paid in [diamond bar], ca.
They and their kids are doing well in AZ. Their kids goals are not to make
money, but to make an impact, to be celebrities and politicians.(I think
that is one or two big step ahead of us, we are still struggling to make end
needs)
. They said people in CA are crazy, they
don't want to move back to CA.
My wife and kids like the weather here,That is the only pro.

way to take care of the issue. Here is what I am going to do.
1. Google SD truck weight station to find a station address.
2. Take a day off to go to a station to weight the truck.
If I can get an answer here. Then I might not need to take a day off. |

Sine you could register your truck as auto last year,
I thought Might be there is a new law?
跑生意 might be ok.
However, if you got an accident, insurance company might refuse to pay.

1. I went to [511 F St Suite 502, San Diego, CA 92101] Prime USA Scales
The first address from google search.
I found there was not weight station there.
2.Then I did further search which came up with following address
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TRUCK STOP, INC.
2250 TIDELANDS AVE.
NATIONAL CITY
(619) 336-6103
There is a weight station. I I got my truck weighted.

a weight-based fee as part of annual registration renewal. The weight fee
on my Dodge Ram was $500/year when the truck was new; the fee has dropped
gradually to about $300/year by year 6. One benefit of commercial plate is
that you can park in yellow loading zone.
If you put a "permanent" shell/cab over the bed, then you can register it as
regular auto and stop paying the weight fee. However if you ever take the
shell off to carry bulky stuff, there is a risk of getting caught and face
fine. Hope it helps! |
