Rep. Marcy Kaptur and Sens. Rob Portman and Sherrod Brown to oppose cutting
biomedical research at the National Institutes of Health and the National
Science Foundation. If it is not repealed, sequestration will result in a 6.
4 percent cut to the NIH and the NSF budgets, which means the impact on jobs
and economic activity will be staggering: a likely loss of 33,000 jobs
across the United States and a $4.5 billion decline in economic activity.
