the course to warm up, and found it to be rolling hills all the way. When
the gun went off all the little kids went out sprinting. I thought they
would fade quickly for sure. Most did, except two, who were pulling away
alongside their dad. The winner was a 12 yr old, with a time of 17:35. I
have never seen a 12 yr old running like that, and I had to congratulate him
after the race. Watch this kid, because he may well be the next American
running star. I ran the first mile in 5:40, but the long uphill in mile 2
slowed me down drastically, and my legs felt flat, having not recovered from
tempo runs earlier in the week. Luckily, there was no competition in the
open division (18-40 yr), and I won the open division despite a lackluster
time of 18:37. Brought home a nice piece of hardware.
I then traveled to stamford to meet with my college friend who just ran his
first hm in Hartford and was super psyched about it. This morning I ran 3
laps with serendip around central park, at a good pace, after tonyprince
ditched us for his girl. Now heading back to new England after a fulfilling
weekend of running. | b***i

I took Friday off, and had a recovery run yesterday. Today I had the last 20
miler before the race. Tried to run at MP on a hilly course. Fine in the
first 16 miles except the pace was ~10 seconds slower than MP. Slowed down
in mile 16 and 17. I could attribute that to the wind as well. But had side
stitch and cramp in the last two miles, a tough run.
I'd better refine my target to the lower end after this run.

难得海边公园没一个人，除了俺，完成了每天7mile计划。今儿休息，打P一天，估计着
