course, especially the later part.

NYCM course isn't any harder than Boston (though some other people say NYCM
is harder, including Pen). I can't really compare to Cape Cod Marathon since
that was such a long time ago. Hills were my weakness then and now a
strength of mine.

this case the long run will be slow and relaxed. If I take it easy on
Saturday then the long run would be faster, and will hit or exceed my goal
marathon pace towards the end.

this season I did my long run with fresh legs. so I assume my race pace

be similiar or maybe slight faster (for first 22 miles).
another big difference is, I did break in training longrun (although I did
not stop the watch). normally the break could be anytime between 1 mins to 3
mins. maybe I should limit that.

L***0 发帖数: 1283 | 17 I don't think water breaks are a big deal. In the past 1.5 years I've tried
different approach to long runs, like gradually increasing the speed till it
hits my tempo pace, or just go slow and relaxed but for very long (even for
as long as 27 miles). I still find the former to be the best approach -
even though I got injured last fall, I was in my best shape then.

could not speed up again after walk.
But in long runs, I rarely had a continuous run along thorough route. In
fact you have to stop due to the traffic, water, or toilet. No big deal

involve the central park loop.
