发帖数: 13580 | 1 After a light lunch and some strolling in Seaside, we started to drive down
to Seaside. The traffic was bad. Seaside is a tiny town with only a few
thousand residents. I have driven through the traffic once before so I knew
what to expected. We left early enough so that we arrived at the finish line
about an hour before our predicted time. We strolled around the huge party
on the beach. As our time got close, we all got excited and anxious.
Everybody was checking the clock impatiently. Finally, a blue shirt appeared
in distance. That was james, everyone got so excited! 2 minutes before the
predited finish time. James dashed onto the sandy beach, and everyone patted
him on the shoulder. We gathered everyone and hung around a little on the
beach then headed back to Portland. The traffic was still bad. By the time
we got back to Portland, it was almost 10:30pm. We went back to Shenzhen,
the Chinese restaurant I frequent in Portland, not because it's good, but
because it opens till midnight. Well, it's not bad anyway.
Next morning, I woke up to a beautiful sunny day in Portland. We were all
tired, but satisfied. It was a surreal experience for me, like no other
races. It was a collective effort of all 14 of us. We made it happen! We
were not super fast, but that's not the point. We all did the best we could
and we ran as a team. I know I am coming back, either as a captain or just a

，非常喜欢，一路上与队友们嘻嘻笑笑，打打闹闹，还把自己的Van装扮得很引人注目
，我每次都有一个leg在凌晨跑，迷迷糊糊的从车上下来就开跑，反倒比白天跑的快。

our captain did not just run the most difficult legs, but also drove our van
most of the time.. Detouring to Astoria is very nice, the river, the bridge
and the city are very impressive...
