Even after I read yhflogan's post cautioning the post marathon race recovery
, I did not take it serious. I finished recent race without much pain, so I
thought I can recover much quickly.
After a soccer game three days after marathon, followed by two days of
recovery run of 3 miles each. I suddenly found myself in a new territory of
injury never happened to me before, achilles tendinitis. Google how it could
happen, and causes apply to me.
# Increase in activity.
# Less recovery time between activities.
# Change of footwear or training surface. (Used new nimbus for race, trained
in kayano, then cleats on muddy ground)
So I would like post the caution again, do not rash during recovery post
marathon race.

A soccer game is definitely no no in a week after marathon.
I got the pulled calf injury only due to a 2-mile recovery run, four days
after the race. So we have to be really careful. What Baiji did can give us
a positive example of how to do the right recovery after a FM race.

my lesson was that.. A soccer game after hard run was a big mistake

i learned that lesson last year too. a soccer game 3 days after a FM race,
then ITBS followed.
