support marriage equality.
According to the poll, 48% of those polled "strongly agree" that same-sex
couples should have the right to marry. The bad news? Ten percent of
respondents say having a gay child would be more of a disappointment than a
son or daughter who's a drug addict or in prison.
Meanwhile, one of the most prominent LGBT Latinos, Ricky Martin, is lending
his support to the Obama campaign. Martin filmed a video urging Latinos to
support the president on November 6.
"I am proud to be Latino and to see how much we have contributed to this
country," the actor and singer says. "From excelling in the best schools to
creating start-up business and contributing to American culture through art
and music we have an opportunity to reelect President Obama and make sure
our community continues to advance." |
