bonus not long ago.
tax rate is 33-35% top braket fed. you don't live near New York, just FYI
state + city is about 10%. and SS, Mediare on top of that. all in all, tax
is about 30% of gross income.
100k tax means about 300k pretax income. not a low income but not outrageous
for junior font desk quants.

suppose good year is 1/3
good company is 1/4
good desk is 1/2
then one out of 24 associate level quants could make 300K sometimes.

a fresh phd with no prior experience enter as an assiciate. I consider that
a junior quant position. typically 3 years later, he/she makes VP by which
time, I d consider him/her experienced.
you asked can all managers make 300k a year, I told you all my managers make

I sure hit 300k within 3 years after I first started after grad school, but
those were a good years for my company and my desk. I considered myself a
junior quant at that time since I did not make VP yet by then. Well maybe
