c++ is a great language for software development on unix. it runs
efficiently. many comercial tools provide c++/c interface. and many existing
systems are already coded in c++. similarly, c# is great for software
development on windows and for web development as well (.net). so, if you
want to be a QUANT DEVELOPER, you need to know those languages very well.

Morgan Stanley before. In Morgan Stanley, I programmed a little bit C++, but
more of my time is on Perl and Excel/VBA. At JPMorgan, most of us program very little in C++, most will be Python, and a little Excel/VBA. Yet
when we interview, we normally only ask about C++. Why? Becaues it is the
