private
property, not the democracy.
In America, the recognition of the right of private property was logically
and historically earlier than the US independence.
According to the founders of US, if US gov wronged with the right of the
private property, US people had the right to revolution.
Today, in my opinion, the safety of global private properties was actually
covered by the 300M private guns in US people’s hands.
The right of private property was first used by Locke to establish his
contracted based social system. Life, liberty and property were the
fundamental principles of his system.
In the Declaration of Independence, the “Life, liberty and the pursuit
of
happiness “ was actually a rephrase of Locke’s “Life,
liberty and
property”.
Those principles were logically and historically earlier than the US.
Jefferson replaces the “property” with “pursuit of
happiness “ because
at that time black men were “ property “ in US English and he
proposed
those people will had these rights later.
Even in China, all rich people knew those principles very well.
In the TV episodes <庆余年 , the below paragraph was cited on purposely:
我们认为这些真理是不言而喻的:
人人生而平等,造物者赋予他们若干不可剥夺的权利,其中包括生命权、自由权和追求
幸福的权利。 “
[The author of original book did not use the paragraph] |
