的资深职位，可以办杰出人才签证（O1-A），收入是现在的4倍还多，毫不犹豫的准备
和IBM开始办理签证流程，MIT这边又说话了，给我Research Scientist职位，就是有些
大学的Research Assistant Professor，nontenure track however，收入翻番，做项
目PI可以自主招生，同时也允许每个月四分之一的时间在IBM或者其他单位兼职。于是
本人陷入了深深的纠结中。
MIT优点：机会多，名气大，学术圈，学校位置好，可以到处兼职顾问咨询，目前看来
比较稳定可以干到退休，轻松灵活自由，可以自己做PI雇人做事，独立办公室，可以到
处开会旅游。
MIT缺点：待遇低一半还多，专业不是特别对口，而且估计只能办一般工作签证（H1B）
，几乎没人管有时候自由就导致懒散。
共性：都可以办绿卡，签证，工作前景都还可以，工作地点都在美国麻省，相隔距离开
车不到一小时。
希望给我一点建议吧，人生转折时。。。 | t***u

enough money to be happy.
Secondly, 1/4 time consulting with 1/2 salary should be about same potential
total income as IBM, as consulting fee is typically twice salary rate. By
owning your own company like many professors do, your income could
potentially be much higher. On the other hand, your company may have
negative income, like anyone doing business.
In this case, either way you have enough income. See which one has the
potential to make you happier.
Working for a big company will be more predictable and probably will be a
very common life. Any invention will belong to the company, not you. You
probably don't expect to rise to executive position either.
Being more or less your own boss has the risk of becoming very successful or
getting lost. It is more difficult to be a common person. | p**********t
