但现在没有概念,如果是做quantitative(包括formal model),不知道能否做得出来?
China的case最多是作为一个数据而已啦. |

，主要是两个hearings: Tydings Hearings,McCarran Hearings，当然如果你不做这个绝
对没必要看，因为第一个有两千多页，第二个多少页不知道，反正有8大本，那天从图书
馆拎回家把我累了个半死 |

发帖数: 1197 | 6 1990年代的china lobby实际上继承了40和50年代的传统，从那时代国民党政府到如今的
台湾政府，china lobby都是华盛顿一个大势力，我个人感觉40和50年代比现在势力更大
，而且在很大程度上成为美国战后政局一个重要影响因素。China lobby包括几种人，宋
氏外交集团（蒋夫人，宋子文），曾经去过或者正在中国的美国传教士社群（注意宋氏的
父亲是传教士，第一桶金是卖圣经卖出来的），跟中国有生意关系的人，雇佣的职业
lobbyists。其中代表人物henry luce（时代周刊的老板），alfred kohlberg（纺织品进
口商，和中国有生意关系）。这个群体直接促成了蒋宋美龄的访美（spectacular!)，以
及大量的对华援助。在McCarthyism时期，这一群体还直接挑起了who lost china的争论
，为mccarthy提供了大量的材料，攻击在华美国外交官（比如John Davies, John
Servies,Stiwell,以至于Dean Acheson），和有关中国和远东问题专家（Owen Lattimore
，这个名字现在不知道有几个人知道

911. I am not sure about the Chinese lobby in 1940s and 1950s. Interesting to
know! |

influence. Yesterday, I watched the ABC world news. The 700 club organized a
campaign to support Isralie against Lebanon. One famous pastor (couldnot
remember his name) said, "the final batter is coming when all evil forces
gathered together against the Israeli, and the God will save the Israeli."
And some Republican senators joined their activities. |
