by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
'Life that shall send A challenge to its end, And when it comes, say, 'Welco

WHAT THE HEART OF THE YOUNG MAN SAID TO THE PSALMIST
I
Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!

II

And the grave is not its goal:
Dust thou art, to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul.
III
Not enjoyment, and not sorrow,
Is our destin' |
