最近倒是遇到不少rheumatoid arthritis...

水仙碱 is colchicine.
Colchicine is used to be dirt cheap, because it was a very old drug, so old
that it was not FDA regulated. But it has been manufactured and used for
many many years.
Then I think in around 2009, a pharmaceutical company did some clinical
studies on their colchicine product, which got FDA to approve their product
under the brand name - colcrys, and also banned all the previous colchicine.
Now patients has to pay for a lot more for the same old drug. I am so mad at
this kind of dark business.

acute flare or gout flare prophylaxis.

很多drug shortage不是也因为工厂没有过关就停掉了吗？
有regulate是好事，可是过多了也不好。
