公司历史上没裁过R&D，去年又有多少身家清白的公司裁研发？拿biogen为例，上次R&D裁
员是1988年,然后还不是一下子裁掉30%的研发部，有多少40多岁的当年一出校门就进了公
司，一下被裁出去，根本都不记得自己上次是啥时候找的工作，两眼一摸黑，还不如新
phd有自信。要我看，既然一脚趟进这个浑水，别管公司大小，随时update自己的简历，
兜里装着个马上可以讲的powerpoint是正经。J&J早该裁员，研发部干得不好，不刺激一
下不行。
现在公司不管大小，趋势是越来越跟着华尔街的指挥棒，一次年报不好，接着就有倒霉的
。那帮孙子根本不管什么三七二十一，前两天genentech,pfizer, J&J除年报的时候不就
是么，人家预测你销售涨85%，你长80%都让你大跌，这几年能有几个avastin这么好的药
，但不行，你长得不如人家预测的好。人家预测你利润跌30%， 你跌25%都让你大涨，这
种时候公司怎么办？销售一时不好，怎么长利润，当然是裁员了，裁谁？首当其冲的就是 |

不过他之前是上海药物所（就在Roche旁边，药谷里面）一个院士手下的博后，已经干了
很多年了。
如果要想回去直接进management或者director阶层的话，至少得先在美国这边就业，或者
是美国学校里比较好的实验室博后吧。 |

typical to J&J, especially when they still had 10.4B profit
on 50.5B revenue. They often move people around companies/sites/groups
to balance resources or solicit volunteers for early retirement
with good benefits.

发帖数: 441 | 8 嘿嘿，J&J研发做得不好，我一点都不觉得奇怪。这里都说 "J&J doesnt
develop drugs"。上层不愿投大钱搞基础研究，整天想着去buy or license
现成的东西，花的钱都打入研发经费中。所以研发经费只是表面上好看，
大部分都没投到自己的实验室。当然R&D本身也有问题，十来年没出过什么
像样的compound，现在做的药一大半都是别人搞出来的。

发帖数: 4595 | 13 i don't think it is rumor. last tuesday i went to a local analytical chemistry
discussion group and met some j&j people. j&j is closing one of their drug
discovery site at raritan, NJ and probably cut 300+ jobs there. they will move
to PA and reopen a new site, however, only 100+ positions available.
from what i heard, many organic and analytical chemists will be affected.
