Weibo that the Apple iPhone 7 Plus will not feature a rear-facing dual
cameras setup because of "technical difficulties." One of the modules was
supposed to offer users optical zooming. Even connected Apple analyst Ming-
Chi Kuo thought that a second camera might be coming to the 5.5-inch model.
The good news for iPhone fans is that this rumor has been put back into play
by others claiming that talk of the death of the dual camera setup was
false.
Today, one of the earliest rumors we heard about the Apple iPhone 7 is being
seriously challenged. The next iteration of the iPhone was supposedly
coming to market without an earphone jack. Last month a manufacturer out of
China displayed adapters that turn the Lightning port into a 3.5mm jack for
heaphones. But today, a smartphone repair company known as Rock Fix, located
in China, posted images of what is supposedly the Lightning cable accessory
for the iPhone 7. The component still includes a headphone jack.
Other images served up by Rock Fix include a picture of what is said to be
the iPhone's first dual SIM trays, a SanDisk 256GB memory chip, and a dual-
camera module for the on-again rumor about the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Check
out the images in the slideshow at the bottom of this story.
Earlier this morning, we told you that the Apple iPhone 7 is now undergoing
mass production at contract manufacturer Pegatron. Before you know it,
September will be here and we will be turning our attention in earnest to
the tenth-anniversary iPhone due out in 2017. |
