Pine has space all the time. I camped in the Lone Pine camp site and drove
up the next morning. Yes, you may park at the whitney portal.
But PLEASE please leave no food in the car, and move any things colorful out
of sight. Otherwise, bear sees a colorful bottle of windshield fluid, he

it is 5.9 miles from the actual Whitney Portal (Trail head for going up
Whitney). Site A in the map.
Whitney Portal has a camp ground called Whitney Portal Camp Ground, right by
the trail head, at an elevation near 8,000 ft. This is the one gets full
quickly in high seasons. Site B in the map below.

发帖数: 654 | 8 没有预定就不定嘛，反正Lone Pine 下面的那个营地肯定不会满的。你们都住下面还清
静，否则上面whitney portal的营地,从山上下来晚的11点才睡，然后半夜就有人起来
准备上路，吵得很，你们也没法睡觉。
建议头一天先往上溜达1-2小时，适应海拔。climb high, sleep low是真理。
我当初头一天下午到了，开车上到whitney portal, 往上走到9000尺后下来，搞清了路
数，也顺便看看开车上山要花多少时间。然后下山，在Lone Pine Camp Ground扎营，
bivy, 把第二天的吃的喝的都准备好了。第二天早上5点起，到了whitney portal把车
里所有的东西都拿出来放到food storage bin (切记！！！！）然后6点开步上路，上
山走的是Mountaineer's route, 下山走hiking trail, 12 hour car to car， 浪费了
不少时间在mountaineer's route上找路。如果路线熟悉体力好的话应该可以轻松地8小
时 car to car. Hiking trail平整宽阔，如果没有冰雪的情况下应该可以全程跑下来

发帖数: 654 | 10 Day hike负什么重啊，包里的水最重，下山应该只有一半不到了，训练有素，姿势正确
，穿的鞋对头，跑这样的路是没有问题的。如果腿脚有训练，就不用穿boots, 只要
trail running shoes 或者approach shoes就行了，脚上省1磅，好比背负省掉5磅。
