day1: I woke up at 7:30 in the morning only waited for an hour before the
rest of the group emerged from their tents, a good indication that this is
going to be a more relaxed trip than I imagined. We had a hearty pancake
breakfast, and took our time on sorting gears, discuss plans, etc. The
decision is to go to "the dark side dome", an area with various sorts of
routes for the whole group; so we drove to the trailhead, put our bags on
