RN.I applied for green cared with EB3. My I-485 has been pending for over
180days. Just wondering if I can work as a NP instead of RN based on my
approved I-140 and pending I-485, while still using my current employment
authorization card (EAD). Does anybody have the similar experience to share
here? Thanks a lot! |

years to get approval and get EAD card.

发帖数: 1739 | 3 她已经交了485了,她说的EAD是485 交上后等排期的EAD, 和OPT的EAD不一样,尽管都叫EAD,我不是非常确定这种情况是不是可以,你得咨询律师

asked my lawyer about my situation. He is not even sure if I can work as a
NP by using my EB3 EAD. I guess it is not a commonly seen case. Just
wondering if anybody else has the similar experience like mine. |

发帖数: 2269 | 6 I guess you cannot. Your EAD is 485 based and is based on your RN job. You
may change to similar job, such as another RN job ( not sure if that needs
to be in the same specialty). But NP job is very different from RN job.
Consult more attorneys. I guess no one knows for sure here.

发帖数: 2269 | 7 I guess you may work full time RN to maintain your 485 status and have a
part time or prn NP job. But as a new grad NP, it may be hard to find a good
NP job without experience.

发帖数: 644 | 11 all RN jobs has a category code when the employers filed 140. That job code
will not cover NP titles. In other words, the job should be similar or same
field, and visa officer will decide if those two jobs are similar or not
based on those codes.

different opinions. One lawyer said that there is no problem for me to work
as NP since I-485 does not ask for any employment codes. If I worked as an
NP, I am still working as an RN, because I cannot be one without the other.
Some lawyers said that RN and NP have different job description and
responsibility. Even my own lawyer is not very sure if the NP position is
the same or similar job classification as the RN job. It is so confusing! |

to use current EAD to work as NP. You can write to USCIS and ask for a

messed and different people will give you different answers.
