I assume you are single. Depends on the cost of renting, quality of life
could vary from average to decent. But you probably won't be able to save
any.

or harlem/uptown border, you may find some deals around 2000 but it is
really difficult.
most people in your salary range choose to share a converted one-bed in a
luxury building with another person if they want to live in manhattan.
