But:
CU may need you have some kind of membership to join, like if you an employer
of university (RA/TA are employer), you can join the CU of university, you
need find it out first. I think nearly all CU will only open to some kind of
person.
CU has low or no minimum balance requirement, usually, say $5. It has
Savings/Checking account, called share savings/share checking.
Bank needs to be FDIC insured, CU needs to be NCUA insured.
