Please vote AGAINST High-Skilled Immigrants Act (H.R. 1044, S. 386) .
Contrary to its name, The Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act is
anything but fair. Currently, no country’s nationals can comprise more than
7 percent of any visa category. These caps ensure diversity in employment-
based immigration, which reflects the long standing American priority of
welcoming talented immigrants from across the globe.
In contrast, this bill goes against principle of fairness in diversity by
eliminating per country caps and will only favor certain countries with the
most number of applicants, particularly China and India. This will greatly
reduce the number of immigrants from other countries with less applicants. A
much skewed immigrant composition will hurt America as a leader in
recruiting talents from a diverse ethnic and national background in the long
term.

this bill,” Perdue said. “We have some language that needs to be clarified
and I still have some concerns about the impact this legislation would have
on some specific industries in not only my state but in the country.”
Perdue said he wanted to work with Sen. Lee to “quickly” resolve his
concerns about the bill.
