Lee, Teng-hui received his PhD degree in Agricultural Economics in 1968.
Returning to Taiwan he entered politics and in 1996 became China's first
democratically elected president. He has graciously provided $3 million to
establish an endowed chair: Lee Teng-hui Chair of International Affairs and
accompanying Fellowship.
