This number is however, understatement. Some leading domestic shareholders
such as Kia Motors, and Hyundai Steel are
also partly owned by foreign investors.
Total Foreign Ownership of Hyundai Motor adjusted for Mobis
45.2% of Hyundai Mobis' stakes (16.9% after excluding treasury) is 7.64%.
7.64% + 43% = 50.64%
In conclusion, at least 50.64% of Hyundai Motor is owned by foreigners,
which also means 50.64% of Hyundai Motor's annual profits will be paid out
to the foreign investors, most to US.
However, if including every cross shareholding, which turns out to be owned
by foreign investors, it is safe to assume that about 60% of Hyunda
motor is owned by foreign investors. |
