I am extremely offended by your "100,000 humorless goons ..." article. What
about someone take that "humor" to your family, saying kill everyone in the
Robby Soave family? Why don't let your kid (if you have one) take that "
humor" to a school? See how the police will take care of him/her.
KILLING as a Way to Solve the Nation’s Debt Problem?
How Could ABC Air Such a Show?
On October 16, ABC aired a segment of Jimmy Kimmel’s Kid’s Table show in
which a boy proposed to "kill everyone in China" as a solution to our nation
's debt problem. This show not only hurt the Chinese American community, but
also all American people and the entire society.
“Killing” as a boy’s first instinct in answering Kimmel’s national debt
question reflects a deep rooted problem in our society on child education.
TV programs like this Kid’s Table show are responsible in planting the idea
of killing as a way to solve one’s problem in the minds of the kids who
watched the show. Seeing a peer getting encouraged by audience laughter when
talking about killing on TV, what would be the response of most kids? That
’s something they wish they could do too!
If kids think it’s okay to talk about “killing everyone” on TV, they may
think it’s not so bad to put that into action. Remember Sandy Hook? 28
killed. Virginia Tech? 33 killed. Columbine High School? 15 killed. Who
planted the seed of killing in the minds of those killers? It’s the TV
programs like the Kid’s Table show. They have no sense of moral standards
and social responsibilities. They cannot see or don’t care how much damages
they have imposed on the society. How many more need to be killed before
they can learn?
So far neither ABC nor Kimmel has acknowledged any wrong doing in producing
and airing this show. Please call them and tell them they have hurt the
American society, not just the Chinese community. Demand a sincere apology
with an acknowledgement of wrong doing, and request those responsible for
this show be punished.
Friends, the only way to prevent such shows from being produced and aired
again is to act now. Thank you for your effort in making our society safer
for our kids and ourselves! |
