The meeting turned violent. They went at it hammer and sickle. Xi Jinping
tried to calm them down. He put himself physically in the crossfire and
unwittingly into the path of a chair as it was thrown across the room. It
hit him in the back, injuring him. Hence the absence, and the silence, and
the rumours. | s****r 发帖数: 31686 | 2 弯弯威武

“The truth: he was snubbing Hilary Clinton.
The prelude to that snub was all on the face of Wen when he went on the
camera with Hilary.
I thought folks needed a book on getting the Chinese verbal language, but I
discovered that
Kissinger, ever the expert on China, has already discussed this aspect of
the Chinese culture in his book.
It is considered rude to openly snub others in the western style; refusing
to meet the leader of another country by feigning illness is a "proper" way
to express disapproval of the visitor's behavior.
The problem with most China analysts in this country, is that they (1) don't
know how to apply what they have read or learned in principle; (2) they are
too arrogant to admit their mistakes; so they kept grinding on a defunct
script; (3) some are too ignorant, and their seemingly privileged and
influential position promotes further indulgence in their ignorance.
The result: blind leading blind, in most analyses.”

“An old man throws a chair across a room.
The chair hits a younger man so hard that he is disabled fo two weeks.
Chinese tall tale must be like this.” |
