Cook herself confirmed the upcoming trip in an interview published by the
State Department on Jan. 23. And on Feb. 3, leaders from ethnic, religious
and non-governmental organizations were invited to brief and present Cook
with suggestions on how to press their concerns during the trip.
According to several present at the meeting, Cook heard from representatives
of the Tibetan movement, Falun Gong, Uighurs and supporters of the
evangelical house church movement currently banned in China.
Some later urged her to go to China even if all the official meetings fell
through, saying she could meet with university students or worship in one of
the banned churches.
Now, advocates say, the visa denial represents one of China’s strongest
rebuffs to the United States on the issue of religious freedom.
“The lack of reaction from the administration to the visa denial goes to
show how important the issue is to the administration. There’s been no
outrage, no statement from the White House, from the secretary, no
communication on this whatsoever,” said Joseph Grieboski, an international
religious freedom advocate and founder of the Institute on Religion and

随意对中国指手画脚，任何来自中国的反弹都会让他们惊诧不已以至怒不可遏。
圣经告诫大家，don't judge, 西方人号称信圣经，却不愿意相信自己一样要遵守。
中国要做的，花那么多钱搞国家形象和对外宣传，比以前是进步了，但是也希望抓住根
子上的东西：摧毁西方人莫名其妙的道德优越感，让西方人丧失好象是天生的话语权。 | H*********S
