("A precedent was set for such a move in 2000, when a Republican-controlled
Congress threatened to force President Bill Clinton to sell Aegis destroyers
to Taiwan. That became a bargaining ploy that helped a lame-duck
Administration see its way to selling a bigger package of weapons and radars
than it otherwise would have approved.")

Dvora/Devora(h)--meaning "bee"--is the Hebrew counterpart of the English

(c) The article quotes James Holmes, an associate professor at the US Naval
War College, as saying,
"The sea-control fleet could make a useful contribution if it sortied well
to the east and got out of easy cruise-missile striking range. Opening a
corridor into the western Pacific would represent an enormous service to the
US Pacific Fleet. It would lower the costs to the US and ease a US
president's decision to order US forces into the theater."
However, Taiwan can only rely on itself to defend itself. That is my
doctrine. In any event, if Taiwan allows China's navy/air force to come to
Taiwan's east coast (which Prof Holmes calls "eastern seaboard"--at first I
mistook it to mean China's), it will be really pathetic (for Taiwan).

develop equipment that China will use on the Moon next year. He suggests
that while China’s space program is no more advanced those of other space-
faring nations, a team of elite engineers and scientists is making
incremental and cost-effective progress. 'The main reason is obviously
salaries in China are not that high. The other reason is, they are
developing a lot of their own components because of the high-tech embargo;
it actually helps them.'
