We always 俭用 by nature -- not room to cut.
We spend too much money on food -- a lot of room to cut. Typically, We spend
$2~ 4k a month for a family of five. I think I should be able to cut 30%~50
% cost on food. |

$4千 after 2010.
Maybe $3千 before 2010.
We spend more money on food than a friend, whose family income is about 2x
of our income, spend on food.
An interesting short story. We often invited a Chinese neighbour come over
to have dinner with us because they are impressed by what we eat. And we
gave them kid's toys and clothes. Later, we found they have more money than
we have.
Food is the biggest cost in my family.

were not able to buy the house since we have bought a lot of houses.
A crazy story.The house is a foreclosure house, and the oven is missing. The
seller agent said that it was not allow we put an oven in the house, and
he would not put an oven in the house. The bank said the house must have an
oven to get a loan.
We told my agent that we would pay cash for the house.We closed the house by
paying cash. I felt good about excising the power of having money.

housing is about $3k.
transportation < $2K.
one college kid( in state college) cost $2k.
2 public mid , high school kid's education cost < $1k
other misc cost $1~2k
food > $3k .
So I think we should cut cost on food.
I think 车的cost is pretty low.
We only buy new low-cost reliable vehicles. we paid about $25k, and drive
the vehicle for 15 ~20 years.
We pay off the house when we were in low cost state.
After we move to high cost state(CA), we feel the pressure of housing cost.

HEATER换一下，钱出去的哗哗的。我一套房子，就是个RAIN GUTTER堵了一下，水全冲
到人家房里。半夜十二点站在那儿排水。给人家钱住MOTEL。回来请DISASTER COMPANY
来清理，还逼着我当天换地毯，再加上还换了个屋顶。租金两年都搭进去。哭死了。唯
一可以安慰自己的，管他亏还是不亏，我好歹也有套出租房。

I keep questioning the wisdom of making the move.
We have a friend. They moved to AZ 10 years ago, because they are tired of
high living cost in NCA. They quitted higher paid AZ jobs 2 years ago, and
moved to NCA. I think they might be heading into a difficult position.
I think we are backed by nice investment income. We may be able to overcome
the difficulties.

9套rental房子 get net $7,8K a month.
The maintenance cost of 9套rental房子is about $5,6K per month.The houses
have about 80% equity.

自己半夜动手或者让房客先住MOTEL之间权衡。尽管我还算能干，到底不是HANDYMAN，
半夜自己动手万万不会。除开让他们住MOTEL，根本没有其他选择。
