range can get into lung. For carpet fiber, it will be blocked by hairs in
your nostrils.

Our nasal airway is highly tortuous, and most large particles will hit
mucosa wall and come out with mucus. Wonder why we have things to pick from
nose :)
Our deep airway is coated with cilia - a layer of micro-hairs that sweeps in
a concerted manner to move particles out of lung.
Our nervous system is wired in a way that irritation to airway leads to
sneeze and cough, mechanically blowing things out at speed over 10m/s.

the carpet very frequently. Little kids are close to the surface of the
carpet.
