primary care doctor之后，觉得primary care很有意思，比起pathology更何我意，再
加上step1分数也不是很competitive，于是很想申请family medicine。 最大的担心是
我毕业已经10年了。虽然有美国的PhD和不少publication，但貌似对family medicine
不太有用啊。想问问family medicine的前辈，我这种情况值得去花很多时间和精力去
做family medicine的observership吗？你们见过program里有毕业>10 年招进来的吗？
我现在该怎么做来maximize my chance? 还是说老毕业生就不用在family medicine上

most. It's worth trying.

- Do whatever you can to increase cliniclal exposure and relate your
experience to clinical work.

发帖数: 20 | 3 我查找过大概30个项目，发现几乎全是要毕业5年以内的。于是放弃了。 |

发帖数: 130 | 4 毕业年限卡非常紧 至少三分之二官网上都是5年以内 至于具体招的时候会不会真严格
按照5年就不知道了 英语要求应该也很高 |

It's not more difficult to get in than other specialties. Usually more
friendly. have more unfilled spots. There are plenty of old CMGs over 10
years graduation. I do feel it's much more interesting than pathology. But
less chance for fellowship.

发帖数: 27 | 6 Thanks for the information. 我也是查了30来个family medicine residency
program，有一个program说要求毕业年限不超过10年，有两个没提年限的事，其它都是
要求不超过5或6年，所以才疑问自己是不是不要想了。 求问招了old CMG graduated
more than 10 years的program，想去联系联系做observership，应该会是很好的
connection吧。 |

发帖数: 2160 | 7 建议你考虑internal medicine，因为Primary care internal medicine和family
medicine在大城市执业的话差别非常小，但是你的科研经历对于申请Internal
medicine，会有更多项目对你感兴趣，难度要低很多

Many chinese doctors who graduated more than 10 years ago got into these
residency programs. Don't worry about that. |
