"I think we are somewhat concerned about your clinical skills. You
graduated ____ (many) years ago. You have done some rotations, but these
are just observership, and you can't really do anything..."
Dr. Wing's Webinar on Clinical
Rotation/OB。Dr. Wing
"A friend who has gone through the process and is now an attending once
talked with me about this. He said that, even though you are just observing,
you can gather a lot of patient's medical information by just observing.
You walk in the room, you will see if the patient is awake/alert, skin color
, if he/she has labored breathing, if the abd is extended. By hearing the
patient talking, you can gather info about the mental, cognitive, and
language functions." (I don't think I finished talking about all these, but
I put them down in case it is helpful to everyone)

"Well, just walk on some rough concrete surface for an hour, and you will be
fine"
So I did! (maybe for 30 min...)

。另外,我想说的是,in the end, we just need to be confident, be
professional, be mentally active/ready to engage in conversation, be
yourself (but certainly not yourself who is at home and ready to relax),
smile, and enjoy! | c*****t 发帖数: 625 | 2 can't agree more with you! double and triple check everything before you
leave...OCD is good at this point.
and thank you letter---double check grammar issues, fond, size before send
them. better draft them before hand. add personalized story/feeling to the
interviewers.
one more thing to add: reiterate whatever externship/observation previously
when you were asked--with heartfelt sincerness. reassure them that you'll be
fine given a little adjustment because I'm hard working.
I get the feeling sometimes they didn't have time to read everything even
though they have your CV and everything at hand.
