虽然IV的大潮没有这么快来到，但估计明天就会开始收到Rej信了，特别是那些有自动
filter的program。所以先把帖子弄好，因为那些据信也是很重要的信息。
一如既往，希望大家积极分享，我会尽能力及时总结，同时把其他论坛的信息也更新在
这里。更鼓励大家报IV的时候能简单介绍一下自己的credential,特别是YOG和分数。

PS, one more example of the importance of connections. It seems SLU is
pretty crazy about the YOG, but I know a guy who is a junior faculty in St
Louis Univ, and his wife (YOG>15ys) got into IM residency last year.

我知道一个类似的例子，老公去大学做faculty，negotiate 的条件之一就是老婆做
resident。而且因为当年没空了，老婆还在实验室做了一年试验员等位置。可见有个强
老公也是match诀窍之一啊，hoho。 |

年没有大规模的报rej），会不会就是去年connection进去的人表现不好，让program对
YOG很concern啊？ |

MedStar Union Memorial Hospital. This program has more than 15 spots for
categorical IM. It seems to be nice to IMGs, but may require permanent

neurology. I do not know if TY can be creditted for 1 yr prelim for
neurology. TY is basically like M4 year. AMG like TY coz it is much lighter
than prelim IM or surg. The drawback of TY is also obvious. It is
noncreditable for anything. If you finish 1 yr prelim TY and switch to IM,
you have to redo 1 yr PGY1 again. For IMGs, prelim IM is more flexible if
you do not have advanced program. GL ya'all. |

PS, one more example of the importance of connections. It seems SLU is
pretty crazy about the YOG, but I know a guy who is a junior faculty in St
Louis Univ, and his wife (YOG>15ys) got into IM residency last year.

我知道一个类似的例子，老公去大学做faculty，negotiate 的条件之一就是老婆做
resident。而且因为当年没空了，老婆还在实验室做了一年试验员等位置。可见有个强

年没有大规模的报rej），会不会就是去年connection进去的人表现不好，让program对

very strict YOG limit, would offer residency position to old IMGs b/c their
husbands are attendings in the hospitals~~This is a connection that we can

neurology. I do not know if TY can be creditted for 1 yr prelim for
neurology. TY is basically like M4 year. AMG like TY coz it is much lighter
than prelim IM or surg. The drawback of TY is also obvious. It is
noncreditable for anything. If you finish 1 yr prelim TY and switch to IM,
you have to redo 1 yr PGY1 again. For IMGs, prelim IM is more flexible if
you do not have advanced program. GL ya'all. |
