After reviewing your application it was determined by the Program Director
that we will not be able to offer you an interview in the Internal Medicine
Residency Program at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center this year for one of
the following reasons below:
1) You are required to have passing scores on your USMLE or COMLEX exams in
both Step 1 and 2 CK and CS (as well as Step 3 if taken), on the FIRST
ATTEMPT
ONLY.
2) You must have graduated from medical or osteopathic school within the
last
3 years.
3) We do not sponsor H1, J1, F1, or B visas. However, we do accept
applicants
who are Permanent Residents of the US or who have an Employment
Authorization
Card (EAD)
Our institution is not able to offer observorships or externships to
international medical graduates
For international graduates, clinical experience in the US is certainly
desirable, but there are no specific requirements

偶一看到3年毕业年限，还有神马required，must之类的强硬字眼，就会将program滤过

Are you talking about Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Beth Israel
Medical Center Program (ACGME: 1403511261)? I got rejection letter from
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center Program (ACGME: 1403321518 ).
Two hours after I received their letter, I drove by a place near my home
called "Congregation of Beth Israel". I thought, what a name!

我好像和谁说过这个beth israel很少招CMG的。今天在实验室轮转，看到了明年要和我
成为同事的AMG Pgy3,她还带来了一个AMG Pgy1,天啊，内科才做了两个月，已经就削尖
脑袋想为以后进来做准备了，除了pgy1的轮转，又承担了clinical trial里的chart
review的工作。让我佩服啊（因为曾经一位师姐从这个university program毕业后，对
我说：这个地狱。），今后的苦难再等待着她啊。可是反过来一想，现在不把关系拉上
，到时候可能真地进不了这个fellowship program.

这个AMG真厉害啊，PGY－1居然还承担clinial trial。。
被拒的这个是NJ的那个beth isreal，印象中不是university program，我现在已经被
无数人嘲笑了。。。。还被实验室小孩追着要cookie吃。
8月31号本来是要把list最后再清点一遍的，但是有个朋友回国，出去大吃了一顿（好
像吃了10个蟹腿这次），回来昏昏欲睡，也没耐心再看了。这个program就这么的稀里
糊涂的被俺申请了，汗死了。

因为tropical storm warning,我把劳动节的new Orleans weekend hotel给cancel掉了
，正在心痛不已啊，那是我最喜欢的一家酒店啊，离canel,bourbon都只隔一条街啊。

我来说几句，关于这个IV/rejection list.
希望每一位今年申请的同学都能参与进来，随时汇报自己的进展，汇报时请说出
program的名字。这样做有两个目的：第一，方便别人，给别人提供信息。比如说我苦
苦等待的某个program一直没有消息，看到别人汇报也能缓解自己的痛苦。第二，拿到
同一个program的同学如果愿意也可以私下互相交流。
确实，汇报IV/rejection更多的是给别人提供信息，但是大家要学会帮助别人，珍惜帮
助别人的机会。人的一生是短暂的，不要只做对自己有利的事情。特别是有实力条件好
的同学，因为上天给了你超乎常人的实力，其实也期盼你能承担更多的责任。
如果你愿意汇报但是又想保持低调，请考虑把你的进展发给我或者其他版主。我们把它
转贴出来，同时一定给你保密。或者你们每个match互助组的组长代表整个组汇报自己
的进展。
这个帖子需要每一位今年申请的同学来参与。每一个人都不要等别人，不要和别人比精
明。courtesy is contagious and it begins with you!

applied on Sept.1. I am thinking that my rejection is on its way right now.

Actually, the reason in the Rej letter is they do not support visa. But I
have GC already so I searched their website and find they have the limit of
YOG<5y.
but if they give chances for >10y YOG, I will appeal for that, they may made
mistake.

Congrats to those who got IV so far; looks like the wave is coming...
I applied for some of the same programs that already handed out rej or iv.
For me, nothing, no rej, no iv, no nothing. I guess I can view it as if no
rej means I am still in the game. But heck, silent rej is even worse and
cruel. I don't know if it is just me, but anybody have any thoughts on this?
Or in the same boat?

可以说这可能是最有用的帖子之一了。为了直观，也为了减少以后斑竹们整理的工作量
，建议大家贴成绩时用统一格式。下一位同学copy上一位同学的list, 再在最后加上自
己的成绩汇报。比如：
格式： [date of notice], [program name], [states], [notes]
注意用逗号分隔，以后方便用excel
例如，以下是目前为止板上的成绩

四年前去面试过一次，当时是老印的天下，就没见别的肤色的人，一次iv 叫了20多个
人，可想而知质量有多差，我等了整整一天见faculty (也都是老印），结果就谈了5
分钟，把我打发了。真的不是打击你，我的印象很不好，后来都没rank它。不过4年过
去了，或许有变化吧，别全信我的。

Totally agree with you! Never go to a prg which you have hard time
identifying with. I would say that I can have the courage and willingness to
American cultures. I will never identify myself with Indian cultures which
are also totally different from ours. If you are sick of Indian ways of
speaking or behaving, never go there.

Match is everything. Visa is secondary concern. When career is set, anything
else will come as a collateral. Forgot to mention. I just got my first IV.
Haha.. I am pretty sure that it will be my last IV this yr. But the good
part is that I will save tons of money and time traveling around USA.

今天收到St. Francis Medical Center, NJ来信：
“Please keep in mind that we have received thousands of applications and
each one is being reviewed carefully. Each and every applicant will receive
a written response from our program either inviting you for an interview or
a notice of regret. Emails will be sent out daily extending through January/
February 2012. So again, please don't call to advise us that you have not
received your notice or request a status update of your application. If
you do, you will be sent an notice immediately and it will not be an
invitation.”

我来说几句，关于这个IV/rejection list.
希望每一位今年申请的同学都能参与进来，随时汇报自己的进展，汇报时请说出
program的名字。这样做有三个目的：第一，方便别人，给别人提供信息。比如说我苦苦等待的某个program一直没有消息，看到别人汇报也能缓解自己的痛苦。第二，拿到同一个program的同学如果愿意也可以私下互相交流。第三，有同样面试的住院医也可以给你讲点他们原来面试的经验。
确实，汇报IV/rejection更多的是给别人提供信息，但是如果每个人都能来汇报的话，大家就都能够从中受益。而且，大家要学会帮助别人，珍惜帮助别人的机会。人的一生是短暂的，不要只做对自己有利的事情。特别是有实力条件好的同学，因为上天给了你超乎常人的实力，其实也期盼你能承担更多的责任。
如果你愿意汇报但是又想保持低调，或者有其它的顾虑，请考虑把你的进展发给我或者其他版主。我们把它转贴出来，同时一定给你保密。或者你们每个match互助组的组长代表汇报自己整个组的进展。
这个帖子需要每一位今年申请的同学来参与, 每一个人都不要等别人。
