education ( 2 years pre-med and 4 year medical education) 中国的医学院大都是
五年制，看到许多CMG拿到了这些州的执照，大家是怎么满足这个六年的要求的呢？
See IL requirement:
To satisfy the education requirements for licensure as a physician, you
must present evidence of the following:
Professional Education
Satisfactory completion of 6-year post-secondary course of study consisting
of two (2) academic years of a course of instruction in a college or
university and four (4) academic years of medical education. The four (4)
academic years of medical education shall consist of two (2) academic
years of study in the basic medical sciences and two (2) academic years of
study in the clinical sciences while enrolled in the medical college that
conferred the degree (an academic year is defined as a minimum of nine
(9) months in length): or graduated from a medical or osteopathic college
accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or the American
Osteopathic Bureau on Professional Education. |

first 2 yrs are pre-med, which for many FMG, like China, UK, India, Japan,
no such requirement!
so after 4 yr is medical school, which we all meet it!
I have IL license. I had 5-yr med yr.......

it require 150 credits........
if u have some clinical relevent research publications, patent, or awards,
all these are counted and very strong spt materials for you application of
IL license.......

发帖数: 2541 | 8 for residency, it's training license--temperary one, MUST get it done before
7/1 to start your training.
IL license is kind of difficult and time consuming comparing to NY, PA, MI,
etc.....
Its board take FCVS but not completely take its credits. So, u still need
send some forms to your med school or ask them to sign some forms then
directly sent back to board or your hospital housestaff office (or CME
office, whatever it called) to get approval.
IL board has a board meeting to approve thousands of applicant's application
only once per month. So, u need do it NOW to have it done before 7/1,
otherwise, u might stuck there cann't do anything when u r on 7/1!!!
call your PC/PD to ask them to get such forms and do it NOW!!!

if any one do fellowship, then u need apply for permanent IL license!
it's totally different from temperary license for residency, although the
procedure and forms same. It's usually much faster than do for residency one
, as once u submit document complete, the board immediately check and prove
if all done well. not like residency, once per month.......
so, better to remember this, if u consider to have fellowship later after
residency in IL!

I wonder if 150 CME credits are required for temporary physician licence
application. I went through all the charts I received, and none of them
mentioned 150 CME credits.

As when I applied for IL temperary one for intern, and later on (2006),
permanent one for fellowship at UC, I did 150 credits (from internet,
meeting credits, etc) ,which was required by board.......
maybe it changed policy, u need verify to make sure it.......

刚打电话去 GME office， 150 CME credits 是必须的。现在得抓紧时间 earn credit.
Here is the link for free online CME. If you have attended any conferences on your own that issued CME credit, that too will count.

The on-line courses are not easy. By taking each test (10 questions), I can
only earn 1 credit. Need to figure out faster way to earn those credits.
Actually IL is not the only state requiring CME credits.

But, u r super smart gal, I could do by getting 10-20 even 30 points one
night, I thought u can finish it in 2 nights lal......
of course, I do have some trick to get it faster, but I don't say now......

but this capacity must be clinical medical related.如果没有的话,就需要用
150CME来补吗?那也需要在4月底之前做好吗?

I thought I said very clearly:
any clinical relevant research, pub, awards/prize, grants/funding, patents,
etc all counted.
otherwise, 150 CME is MUST!
call boards or e-mail them for what u still confuse or concern......ASAP!

I noticed you have matched into Chicago residency program. Have you had a
problem getting state temporary physician license? I am a PGY-1 Psy resident
in Chicago medical school/Rosalind Franklin University. State kept asking
me to provide a 2 year liberal art education official transcript, in another
word, pre med education. How did you handle your application in this
requirement?

literally facing this temporary license problem. State of Illinois kept
asking me a 2 year liberal art or pre med education official transcript
regardless the fact I have provided 5 years medical education! Do not know
how to handle this? Please let me know your experience and advice!
