Dear Dr. XX:
I wanted to let you know that our immigration attorney just notified us that
community hospitals may have trouble getting H1 visas for incoming
residents this year. Apparently the USCIS is considering denying cap-
exemption to hospitals which are not ‘owned or controlled’ by an
institution of higher learning. If this does happen, it would apply to all
community hospitals not owned by a university. Also petitions can be
submitted in April for an October 1 start date or residents could pursue J-1
status. It is unlikely that we will know the outcome on this decision prior
to the deadline for your rank list submission. I thought you should be
aware that it is possible that only University programs will have the option
of granting H1b visas, since it may influence your decisions about your
ranking.

before this rule, there is already limited number of programs could
offer H1B,
after this, things would be worse
only those university programs can exempt this rule.
并且，更加重要的是，医院他们去申请H1B的时间：
普通H1B到4月初就满额了，
1月份面试完了他们什么时候开始递交H1B的申请，递交晚了，就已经没位置了
听说visa很难搞很耗时间的 |
