recommendation letter. 给推荐人简单讲讲,就让推荐人写封信,其他的都我弄齐了邮
寄.倒不是担心他们给写的不好.人家答应的应该都能写的不错.
所以请教大家not waive right to see the recommendation letter对申请有影响吗?
有什么优点吗? waive有什么好处呢?多谢指教.祝大家都成功match. |

发帖数: 1295 | 2 It's better to waive if you want the PDs to take the letters seriously.
You can put the cover letter and DSF into an envelope and have the address
and stamp ready in the front. Give this envelope to the writer and tell him/
her s/he only needs to put the letter inside and mail it out.
Another way is: ask the writer to seal the letter into an envelope then give
it to you. You can put this envelope together with cover letter/DSF in
another envelope and mail it out by yourself. |

In school we were advised to waive the rights for all LoRs. For some
programs this probably doesn't make much difference. But some PDs may think
the letter could be less credible because the writer is under pressure.
Anyway PDs can always contact the letter writer directly if they have some
doubts or need additional information. |

还有2个问题.
1. waive or not waive,推荐人要在推荐信里明确写出来.还是在cover sheet上钩上就
可以了.
2. not waive 推荐信是不是在scramble的时候用.如果waive了,到时候就没的用了.是
这样吗?

- You check "waive" on the cover sheet and the writer needs to mention it in
the letter.

- If you waive it, the letter will not be returned to you. Some writers are
still willing to let you have a copy of the letter even if you waive your
right.
If you don't waive, you can have a copy for yourself.

You should definitely WAIVE RIGHT TO SEE THE LETTERS.
It is a big NO NO choosing not to waive.
You can mail the letters out for the writters without really reading them.

你让推荐人在网上提交不就可以了。
或者，你把所有的文件都弄齐了，放一个信封里，贴上邮票。推荐信写完，把推荐信往
信封里一放，丢到邮局就结了，根本跟waive不waive没有关系。 |
