费城的同学（UPENN AND DEXEL AREA）很多人对＂郑医生＂这个名字都不陌生吧。他多
大进的住院？５３岁以后！为什么要做住院？他当年的生活已经很安逸了，孩子都长大
成人，衣食无忧。他不愿意就这样退休看夕阳西去。。。不能说太多，话多了惹麻烦。
还有，我一师姐－－叫人家师姐我都不好意思，人家是我老师辈的。79级的（入学），
两年前我在一校友会上偶遇到她，她当时是第一年FELLOW，算一算她进住院的年龄吧。
我笨，我算不出来。。她的故事和LZ讲的如出一辙。
还有，我一同事，８５级的现在是PGY－２，进住院的时候也不小了吧。。
上面是CMG，我还认识一中东国家的FMG，他的名气实在太大（LOCAL），也是AFTER ５
３，他和＂郑医生＂一样，不是为了MONEY 才住院的，两人都来自同一个PROGRAM。
当然，我身边更多的是１０年左右，GC在手的CMG。上面的前辈给了我太多的鼓励，他
们都曾和我说过同样的话＂THINK ABOUT ME，IT＇S NEVER TOO LATE！＂ |

I am an old IMG too and applying this year. My two cents:
Never too old if you are sure to be a clinician in USA is what you really
want. The bloody truth is the fresher the better.Lots of programs (almost
all)set the screen criterions for thousands application they received and
usually the PC will do the screen job.If your graduation year over 10y, even
you have higher score and your file will still be trashed by PC without
presented to PD or other

我们PROGRAM也有个FMG, 年龄起码45，两鬓的头发全白了。
没有太多的经历，综合前前后后二十来个面试，希望能够较为客观回答你的问题
1.您及其他PD 在面试学生的时候， 是否经常云山雾罩的问一些所谓的医学史
之类的问题？
绝对没有过。问过我的推荐人情况，以及我对他的看法
2.您及其他PD 在面试学生的时候，是否经常拿一个美国小说或电影中的一个人物或情
节去拷问来自完全不同文化背景的国家的学生，比如CMG?
绝对没有过。问过我打高尔夫是几杆的水平
3.作为长者和领导， 您对学生是经常鼓励还是训斥；是否经常对学生或下属JJWW地说
： shamed on you……. 现在的PD是这样
4.对于持不同意见者，您是打击还是包容？
现在的某些ATT基本上不听我们的意见甚至问题的请教 |

明枪暗飞针的朝俺来的不止一个两个，我相信这也不是最后一个。如果是见过炸药
奖杨82的，大概就更可以作为敲俺板砖的资本来了。。。。。。
记得去年一个酸酸地上来就说，CMG里在CAPA的牛人如何如何，我见过多少多少。刚
好，俺也在CAPA义务谋事，办老刀会，俺跟CAPA牛人一声招呼，人家大力支持，批
给银子资助，另一著作等身的牛人则亲自带着支票前来助阵辅导，今年已答应仍将前
来辅导不说，还将携他那位更牛的搞神经内科，握有NIH基金的夫人前来帮忙。我的
学弟，师从心内介入世界大牛，挣得是俺的几倍，可俺一招呼希望来帮忙，两年两
次驱车百迈带着同事前来，今年已经又打了保票要来辅导。
CMG里这种愿象机密、逆风、茶包等做点小事都不愿可口水飞针不少的时而有之，每
几个月就要来一次。
这就是网上江湖。。。。。。
什么是真正值得正在挣扎于考版进住院的中国医(学)生们学习和尊敬的牛人？

a doctor, then try your best to become one. Spending too much time on
calculating the chance of winning or lossing will not increase your own
chance of winning at all.
When my wife started preparing for Step 1 11 yrs ago, a CMG friend tried to
discourage us by saying that it was too hard for a CMG to become a doctor in
US. Now, my wife finished her fellow and started practicing for 2 years,

我说过了，当年当我第一次进USMLE考场见到那些白发苍苍老头老太太东欧医生们，
我就铁了心走这条不归之路了。
我也谈到过：我的师姐是72级WPS学员毕业的，当她住院毕业时，她女儿医学院也毕
业了。另一位在TOP10 PSYCH pg毕业的女CMG也同样故事。我做住院第4年，我们招进过
一个60的印度老太太。
这类例子数不胜数。年龄大固然有很多困难和进门难度增大很多，但关键是当事人
的态度、决心、和如何以自己的优势去战胜自己的劣势来赢得成功和胜利。
我来这里3年了，做得最多和最主要做的也就是这点。对于象小粉、茶包、老土这类
冰雪聪明年轻的CMG我一点都没有疑虑和担忧，他们肯定能顺利进去，而老CMG确实
有许多难处和劣势，我要以自己的经历和教训给他们一点帮助。
这也是让这版上一些心术不正的CMG所不屑和经常要来找岔之处。

达一下我的看法吧：
如果我的印象没错的话，您这个ID到目前为止发的一大半帖子都是对着老刀来的，因此
我觉得您发帖的目的很可疑。
老刀是外科医生的性格，很多人受不了，但这并没有影响他在这里帮助和激励一大批毕
业年头长一点的CMG。他在这个坛子的特殊地位，不是骂人得来的，您如果看问题只看
一个方面，这些观点在麦地不会太受欢迎。
如果我没认错人的话，您目前应该不是备考阶段了，有什么经验和体会，给还没入门的
小同学贡献一点，应该会比发这些指点江山的帖子受欢迎。 |

我个人认为，麦地版是为了中国人在美国做医生开的，离开这个宗旨，反对这个宗旨的
，可以去买买提其他相关版块讨论。
我同意老刀的意见，对拔气门芯的，存心制造不和谐气氛的，要毫不留情地打击。 |

What is wrong with those questions he popped up? Even he was targeting at
someone, he at least tried to clarify some facts which are unnecessary and
absolute scary to other people.
It was immature to put your comments as below. A large group of people who are
visiting the forum may be committed to fight for their opportunities with
sweat and blood. And I totally agree, they need harsh, cynical critic
