Wokai is a non-profit organization that is committed to enabling people in
rural China to lift themselves from poverty. Wokai's online platform allows
people in US and Canada to contribute microloans to a specific impoverished
Chinese micro-entrepreneur, giving them the means to start their own
business and sustainably earn an income to support their families.
The way that Wokai works including:
1. Our Field Partners screen recipients and posts loan request online.
2. You browse, and choose your favorite recipient, and make a tax deductible
contribution on Wokai.org.
3. We transfer your loan to our Field Partners who distribute the loan to
your recipient.
4. You receive updates on repayment and progress as your borrower builds or
expands the business.
5. Once your borrower has completely repaid her loan, you can redistribute
to support someone new.
