As in U Akron polymer science and polymer engineering are separate, so people
defined polymer engineering as rheology, polymer molding, and machinery for
polymer fabrication.
While in most other universities, the definition of polymer engineering would
include those concepts like functional polymers, polymer composites, nanotech,
biopolymers, etc.

In UMass, there are quite a few active young professors
Southern Mississippi seems not strong at all to me (who is real good?)

h as Johnson, GE, Roman Hoss, Dow; Actually academic is a little weak, McCormi
ck is good for water-soluble polymer, Mauritz is good for Nafion, Hoyle is goo
d for photopolymerization (he is a very very very nice prof, just like a father
who will care his students very much even you are not in his group for everyth

come after me and leave, coating is hot right now in industry.
how about doing postdoc in USM? hehe...
