One way I saw people major in ME is to keep working as an engineer until
chief engineer, which takes too long to achieve. Even that way you are still
kind of under paid with tons of everyday work.
The second way is working at a manufacture plant and become a plant manager.
This way you can get a lot of money, however the working environment is not
so good as working in headquarter office. This path seems more suitable for

engineer paid is surelly not good as finance,
what is worer, ME professional are worse than IT professionals.
speaking of career path, what options do we have?
1) change major to finance, is age a problem?
2) to be a manager, which is not easy in US.
3) going back China to be a manager, is this way good?

some prefer to be on the technical track, and eventually become the
technical leader/specialst. they sure can make a lot of money. as I know,
the technical leader can make more money than his/her supervisor/project
manager, and dont have to worry about too much politics..
however, if you want to step into upper-managerment. first, i think, you
gotta love dealing with peoples, enjoy more by coordinating peoples from
different groups than doing the
