发帖数: 109 | 2 I just came back from there today. I feel it is not bad, as I thought before

there are still resconstruction and repairment going on. As far as I know,
downtown New Orleans is not very safe (esp night, after 3 am, being told by
a graduate during lunch), but other areas like Metairie, are very good in
fact.
if you got an offer and will move there after summer, it will be better than
current.
Of course I just stayed there 2 days and talked to very limited number of
people.

Each city has some area with problems.
You can find a good place for sure.
Not a big issue at all.

but NOLA is a very special city,
most ppl here are like the city spirit rather than the city itself.
as the mayor called this city a chocalate city
80% of the residents here are blacks.
The common sense is not going outside after dark,

The hard thing is, the main industry is tourism. There're some financial
service/computer companies as well. Civil engineering should be very
becoming now. I just can't find anything, thus had to leave...... |
