back home. I’d thank Tudoupipi to initiate this group buy, also thank Goffy
and Cliurds to negotiate with dealers. I sincerely hope you will get your
cars very soon.
When the sales person (Peter) told me that the reason I can get this deal is
because they set the sell quota 50 for this month and mine is #48. I
totally believed, and was shocked how low a dealer sell cars each month. I
was also told that they lost about $1200 just to sell me at this price, and
I trust him. The dealer has to calculate the cash in by selling each car to
cover the business expense and profits. Business is business, they know what
they want, and you know what you want. Treat them nicely, but be firm at
the price. I found that using truecar and Costco will give you a fairly good
price, no hassle, no game. This probably will give you a guideline.
Actually I got OTD price at $25K. The difference is only $500 (2% of whole
deal). If you hate to deal with dealers and want to get it done quickly. Go
for it. For me, I enjoy dealing with people, want to know better to control
what I am doing rather than being controlled. I have to say, it is not easy,
but full of fun. Dealer asked for $25915+TTL, and I got price at $22149+TTL
=$24500, 17% cut.
Keep in mind, the price should consists 3 parts: A (manufacture suggested
price)+ B(Dealer added accessories)+C(TTL). Most of dealer play games on B
that is, in most case, hidden when you get a quote from a dealer. I was
initially charged $1595 for a protection package and tint. This is how
dealership sell you a car. The internet team offers you lower Eprice (with
hidden B) to get you there, the sale team sell you a car to get their
commission, and financial team get their share if you go through finance
with them. Manger can bring them together, by sacrificing some, to give you
a lower price if he has other goal to achieve.
OK, here is my journey.
11/25: went to dealer A, tested drive, asking OTD24000 for 2016 LX, no deal,
shake hands, bye.
Same day, Got Eprice (21050) from dealer B, went there, spent 2 hours,
finally was surprised by hidden accessories, total OTD25000, pissed off,
left, the sale person Peter is good and apologized dishonest of internet
team and agreed to follow-up.
11/27:
called peter, price is same.
11/28:
per suggest by Cliurds, got Costco deal from dealer C, quoted OTD25000,
asked OTD24000, no, shake hands, bye.
11/29:
heard not so good results from Tudoupipi.
6PM, called Peter from dealer B, and told him I can offer the median price
at 24500. The answer is no. I thanked him for giving me a nice service and
bye.
6:30 PM, his manager called me blah blah blah to insist 25K, say no to him
and thank him, hang up.
7 PM, Peter called back, saying after numerous tries, his manger agreed to
deal at 24750. Said no nicely. He even yelled at me, how many efforts he
tried, and I only cared about 250 dollars…. I was still nice to him, just
say no and bye and keep in touch.
8:15 PM, Peter called, agreed at 14500, but deal has to be done that night.
In addition, I had to finance through them at 4.3% APR. He said I can
refinance or pay off after first payment, but would be nice to do it after 3
installments. I said yes to him, told him, I will do him a favor to pay 3
times.
8:30 PM, arrived there, everyone is happy.

:我一般先在KBB或者Edmunds上查好invoice cost, incentives, rebates, 看看有没
有special lease and finance, etc. 看下truecar,对于要买的车行情有个大概概念
。然后发邮件给几家Internet sales or fleet manager,告诉你要的车型,option什么
,价钱谈好,才进去签约牵车,就这样简单。
